We live in a ludicrous world. The systems we rely on are broken, and there is a disgusting abuse of power which is failing both people and planet.
We think we need radical ideas to transform these broken systems and usher in a new era of social, economic and environmental justice. And we’ve got a wild idea.
Saskia has worked as Campaigns/Programme Director and Senior Manager for a range of international organisations and led campaigning on climate change, women's rights, mental health and anti-corruption. She lived and worked in Uganda for seven years working in and alongside grassroots organisations and is inspired and in awe of what groups of passionate people can achieve.
Ana Sofía Suárez is a campaign strategist with over 10 years of experience running advocacy and public mobilization campaigns on human rights, gender equality, biodiversity, and climate, globally but mostly in Latin American countries.
She has worked at Avaaz, Amnesty International, the UN Mission in Congo, and local organizations in Mexico, India, Cameroon, and Ghana. She has MSc in Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics.
Namrata has been working in the international third sector since the early 2000s, campaigning on a wide range of issues in the global north and south.
She has worked with Greenpeace, World Animal Protection, and 350.org, and founded social change agency Cause Impact.
Tracy has been leading and advising on people powered campaigns for more than a decade. She is a co-founder of the Mobilisation Lab guiding social change organisations to achieve greater impact through the use of systems thinking and participatory campaign design.
Wanjiku is an experienced advocacy and campaign strategist. She has led many human-centred strategy development projects for dozens of organisations in Africa. Over the 15 years that she has worked in this area she has trained hundreds of advocates and campaigners working on human rights issues on the continent and beyond.
We want to bring together activists, communities and change makers to tackle the root causes of entrenched problems facing humanity and the planet.
This is about enabling grassroots activists and communities who are directly affected by the world’s worst problems to collaborate and create solutions that cut across the issues they work on, to achieve something bigger than they can, working within their own communities or on single issues.
Together we want to dismantle the old power structures that perpetuate social, economic and environmental injustice. These systems favour those already with power and wealth to acquire more, and removing them won’t solve the problem - we need to transform these systems, and we need to do it now.
These systems also divide people who want to see progressive change, forcing people to work in silos tackling a growing number of system ills, and competing with each other for funding and stifling collaboration and creativity.
Changing these systems will require an unprecedented scale of human collaboration, and an evolution in change making.
We will work to bring together activists, organisations and entrepreneurs to create solutions, to amplify and accelerate what’s working.
We know that this will require experimentation, adaptation and ways of thinking and working that look very different to the way we’ve tackled global problems so far - the ways we’ve worked and collaborated in the past have not led to the solutions we need, we need a radically different approach.
Long held norms and rules are currently being broken and stretched for darker purposes - we need to do the same in the interests of the many and for the planet.
With your help, we want to build a new model of campaigning and change making.
One that is focused on human connection and collaboration. That is non-hierarchical, values diversity of thought and experience and is driven by affected communities. That provides direct practical, mental and financial support for change makers. That strives for a conscious redistribution of wealth within the non-governmental sector to the people and places where this could have the greatest impact.
Connect, amplify and accelerate existing efforts to tackle the root causes and challenges to social, economic and environmental justice.
Help stop the rise of fascism and authoritarianism in this generation. This a global phenomenon that manifests differently in different places but to end it requires global action to dismantle the social and structural systems that lead to oppression.
Change the dominant narratives in society that divide people and bring people together by strengthening connections and citizen action to bring about social, economic and environmental justice.
Galvanise philanthropists and funders to support work that has greater potential to transform systems.
